Andres Morales is a member of the Geneva Photographic Society.

Born in Costa Rica and presently living in Geneva, Switzerland, this amateur photojournalist
has spent several years focusing on social issues and human rights. He has traveled the world extensively
both on and off assignment around all over the world.

Images from the Rwanda War, Iraq invasion and the youth culture had a powerful effect
on him and were instrumental in his decision to become a photographer. He has more than
seven years of progressively responsible work experience within professional and volunteer
organizations on local, regional and international levels. His experience is predominantly
within the fields of human rights, programme development, training and knowledge management.
He worked as an independent consultant for training and programme development for the
International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC). In this position,
he developed educational materials, delivered training and provided support and advice to
IFRC's staff and volunteers.

Before, he worked as Unit Manager for the World Organization of the Scout Movement, where
he was responsible for the development and coordination of educational programmes for
adolescents and young adults. This included the development of documents on youth
participation and decision-making processes. Further, he managed and supervised the
development of a world initiative in the areas of peace, environment and sustainable
development in order to help member organizations revitalize their programmes through
community-based activities. He directly supported national organizations in more than
50 countries worldwide, the majority in developing countries and in (post-) conflict environments.
Also, he served as member of the UNFPA's Global Youth Advisory Board and was
directly involved in the 2009 UN Climate Change Conference (COP15).
